La Crosse - Førde friendship Førde, Norway, and the city of La Crosse, Wiscounsin, USA are sister-cities. On Monday 9th august 2005, the friendship treaty was signed in Førde by mayor of  Førde Nils Gjerland, presidents of the friendship comittees, Chuck Hansen and Rolf Thingvold in a ceremony on Rica Sunnfjord Hotel. September 2007:
A delegation from Førde visited La Crosse fro sep 28. til october 5. Halvard Møgster, president of the Førde Comitte, Liv Judith Straume, manager of culture, Helge Sæterdal, superintendent of the schools in Førde, Inger Helene Møgster, health care and Tom Farsund, manager of tourism had a fantastic week in La Crosse. The Octoberfest parade was one of many highligts of the trip.
