Jostedal Glacier, the largest glacier on mainland Europe. 100 kms long and with countless arms reaching down to the valleys in Sunnfjord, Nordfjord and Sogn. From Førde it is just over an hour to the Glacier Museum in Fjærland where you can also see the magnificent Bøyabre Glacier at close quarters. Guided glacier tours can be booked with two separate companies in: Glacier Team or Jølster Rafting.

Directly up from the Kjøsnesfjord on the south side of Jølstravatn lake lies the Grovabre Glacier, which is yet another glacier within the Jostedal National Park. The glacier lies on the boundary between Jølster and Førde, and is the highest point in Førde county borough, 1636 m.a.s. |
