The Glacier Bus is a great opportunity for those taking a holiday beside the Sognefjord. Now it is easy to take a day trip to Urnes Stave Church and then on to Breheimsenter - the information centre for the Jostedal Glacier National Park - on the same day. Or you could get off at Gaupne and visit Gaupne Old Church from 1647. Either way, you are guaranteed a wonderful day.

The Glacier Bus itself runs between Sogndal and the Nigardsbreen Glacier every day between June 15th- Sept 15th, leaving Sogndal at 0845 and returning from the Breheimsenter at 1650.  

There are morning and evening connecting buses from and to most places around the Sognefjord, including Flåm, Aurland, Lærdal and Balestrand. So you can reach the Glacier Bus wherever you are staying. Departure times are on the list to the left. Please note that some connections may not be available on Saturday or Sunday.

To Urnes Stave Church and picturesque Solvorn and the art gallery at Walaker Hotel, you have several departure times between Sogndal and Solvorn to choose from. See table below.

The scheduled bus route "Øst-Vest ekspressen" passes Borgund Stave Church at 1255 every day. Departs Flåm 1155 or Sogndal 1130. Return from Borgund 1440.
